It was a wonderful opportunity to take it back to basics, to give the character calmness and serenity. I use a combination of Photoshop and Painter. Mostly Painter for actual colouring but PS for composition and deciding colours and after pic alterations such as overall colours etc.
It's silly how much muscle definition I do sometimes though just for the fun of it. I mean he'd have to be wearing silk or lycra or something for his abs and chest to be showing up that much! LOL
And your guys aren't too bad either. And those paperdolls really do bear all, I don't know how you do them, all my anatomy faults would be painfully evident, clothing is good for covering up some of those.

Anyway, amazing composition. The character looks entirely kick-ass and the background is perfect - it looks real! The hawks are a really nice addition too. Part of the commission request or just your own little touch?
Only thing I would say against it is that I might've expected to see some kind of evidence of his reflection in the stream. Otherwise, simply beautiful.
